TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: This week’s featured teacher is Mr. Kobe Messick. This is Mr. Messick’s first year in education and we’re glad to have him on the team in the High School English Department teaching 9th grade and 10th grade English as well as a Fiction and Film elective course. He is also assisting with High School Student Council.
Mr. Messick graduated from the University of Missouri and did his student teaching last year in Columbia Public Schools.

We are also fortunate to have Mrs. Nicole Fritts who, in addition to teaching our Middle School computer courses, shares a wealth of knowledge and expertise in our school systems and provides technical support and training to staff and students to help integrate technology into the learning environment.

TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: This week’s featured teacher is Ms. Jodie Bass. Jodie graduated from Central Methodist University in May 2025 and joined our middle school teaching staff this fall. Although this is her first year teaching, she is already a familiar face in Harrisburg having assisted with both HS girls basketball and MS track & field last school year while finishing her degree at CMU.
Ms. Bass is teaching 7th grade Life Science and 8th grade Earth Science this year and will resume her coaching duties assisting for HS Girls basketball and MS track & field.
Some fun facts about Ms. Bass: she played on a state championship team for Coach Jaryt Hunziker, was in a commercial for the American Cancer Society when she was four, and she and her Mother were featured on the cover of Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine.
