Samantha shared the following about her career inspiration and the 2025-26 school year.
“I always wanted to be a teacher since I had Mrs. Eaton as my own first grade teacher and thought she was amazing. Also a certain wonderful middle school social studies teacher whom I adored, inspired me. My undergrad was done at CMU, Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with the Teaching Fellowship at MU, Wizard of Oz fanatic, big family with lots of siblings, reading and sharing books with the first graders is my favorite thing about my job, I love music and concerts, I hosted a student teacher this fall from CMU her name is Madison Eames and the students have loved her! We don't know what we will do when she leaves.”
In addition to inspiring her students in the classroom everyday, Mrs. Carey also serves on numerous district and building committees including the K-2 Professional Learning Committee team, Elementary Carnival Committee, Elementary Literacy Committee, and the Teachers Leading Teachers Team.
When asked to share the impact that Mrs. Carey has on the students, staff, and culture at Harrisburg, Stephanie Harrison summed it up beautifully when she shared:
“Samantha is an exceptionally patient and caring teacher. She has created a classroom environment where students feel loved, safe and valued. Her dedication and devotion to her students are evident in their love for learning. Samantha is also a dependable support to her coworkers and friends. She truly gives her all to the Harrisburg School District in the many roles and responsibilities she has.”
Thank you, Mrs. Carey! #BulldawgPride

Mr. Webb currently teaches dual credit American History and dual credit World Geography to juniors and seniors.
In addition to his role at Harrisburg, he is a full time PhD student at the University of Missouri. His research interests include: asset-based research in rural education, rural teacher education, and social studies teacher education.
We asked a few of his dual credit students to provide a shout-out to Mr. Webb for this week’s post. Here’s what they had to say:
“I liked how Mr. Webb cared about all of our different personalities in the class and was interactive with all of us and wanted to help us chase our dreams for the future.”
“I have too much potential to die.” - one of my top 10 favorite quotes from Mr. Webb
“Mr. Webb is a swell fellow.”
“I like how in his class we actually do work but it is also laid back at the same time.”
“Mr. Webb always let me intrude on his class even though I was not one of his students and one time shared these really delicious treats that he brought for his class with me, as well.”
We are incredibly fortunate that Mr. Webb chose to continue his career at Harrisburg High. Thank you, Mr. Webb! #BulldawgPride

In addition, Mrs. Sublett serves on the PLC Leadership Team, Academic Advisory Cabinet, Career Ladder Committee, and CTA Salary Committee. She also coaches youth softball.
Mrs. Sublett completed her Ed.S. degree in K-12 Leadership in December and has hopes of becoming an elementary Principal someday.
As the Title I Math Coordinator and teacher for our elementary school, Mrs. Sublett makes an incredible impact on her students. You need only to ask her colleagues about this impact to understand how important the work that she does for our students is every day.
“Jaimie supports our elementary students in math with patience and purpose. She breaks down math skills into manageable steps and helps students build a strong foundation. I’m grateful to work alongside her!” - Susan Canote
“Jaimie consistently goes above and beyond for not only students, but teachers too! She makes math fun and accessible for all and the students love playing work place games with her or solving problems together when she comes into our rooms. They look forward to math camp activities she plans each trimester. We are truly lucky to have her in our building!” - Corrine Hill
“Jamie has been so great to work with. She cares about the students. She is always willing to have a conversation with you about what we are working on with kids in math.” - Natalie Dixon
“Jaimie's commitment to supporting all learners—meeting them where they are and helping them grow with confidence—is truly inspiring. She works tirelessly to ensure every student has access to the tools, strategies, and encouragement they need to succeed in mathematics. Beyond her work with students, she empowers teachers by providing thoughtful resources, research-based strategies, and meaningful instructional support that enhances classroom teaching and drives student achievement. Her collaboration, expertise, and positive spirit make a lasting impact across our entire school community. Our entire school is so grateful for the difference you make every day!” - Sarah Earlywine
“Not only is she my sister-in-law, but she’s also one of my favorite coworkers. Her positivity, intelligence, and kind spirit make her an absolute joy to work with.” - Meghan Sublett
