TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: This week’s featured teacher is Mrs. Jaimie Sublett. Mrs. Sublett is a 2006 graduate of Harrisburg Schools and returned home 13 years ago to begin her teaching career. As the Elementary Math Specialist, Mrs. Sublett works with all grade levels of elementary students. She designs meaningful and individualized academic lessons and small group activities for students making what are sometimes difficult math concepts both approachable and enjoyable. Simply put…she makes math fun! Mrs. Sublett also devotes her time to serving as CTA Treasurer, District Academic Advisory Cabinet, PBS Leadership Team, CTA Salary Committee, and District Equity Committee. We are so thankful that our students and staff have the opportunity to benefit from her knowledge and skill every day. Thank you, Mrs. Sublett! #Bulldawgpride

TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: This week’s featured teacher is McKenzie Wanner. Mrs. Wanner has fourteen years of experience in education and has been teaching in Harrisburg for the past four years. As a high school learning specialist, Mrs. Wanner supports students in English, Biology, Health, Math, and Government. In addition to providing instructional support for our students and teachers every school day, McKenzie also coaches Middle School Softball and serves on our district Student Success Team and Academic Advisory Cabinet. Mrs. Wanner has a way of being exactly where her expertise and skill set are needed in subtle and meaningful ways. We are so thankful that she decided to return to her alma mater to be a Bulldog for life! #Bulldawgpride

TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: This week’s featured teacher is Mrs. Sarah Earlywine. Mrs. Earlywine began her teaching career in Harrisburg 15 years ago and we have been blessed with her enthusiastic, creative, and passionate teaching skills ever since. Mrs. Earlywine truly makes learning fun, authentic, and approachable for her 5th grade students. In addition to these skills, she also lends her time and talents as sponsor of Elementary Student Council and serves our district on the PLC Leadership Team, Academic Advisory Cabinet, PBIS Committee, and the Elementary Instructional Support Team. Today’s featured teacher is Zech Bowman. Mr. Bowman is currently completing his twelfth year in education. He has taught high school math in Harrisburg for the last seven years. In addition to teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, and Concepts of Math, Mr. Bowman serves on the District Academic Advisory Cabinet and coaches High School Football and High School Track. We’re thankful to have Mr. Bowman’s skills and talents in the classroom and on the fields. #Bulldawgpride

TEACHER FEATURE TUESDAY: Featured today is Mr. Nathan Carey. Mr. Carey graduated from Harrisburg in 2007 and after beginning a teaching career in Centralia, returned to his alma mater in 2016. In his classroom at Harrisburg Middle School, Mr. Carey utilizes a wide range of skill and expertise to make math fun, accessible, and authentic for his 7th & 8th grade students. In addition, he sponsors our Junior High Chapter of National Honor Society and serves on our district Academic Advisory Committee. March is School Board Appreciation Month and we are very grateful to the men and women who have served and who currently serve on the Harrisburg R-VIII Board of Education. Last night before their regular monthly meeting, our board members recognized students who received an Advanced score on their Missouri Assessment Program test (MAP) or End of Course Exams (EOC) in the 2021-22 school year. In addition to being an incredible classroom teacher, Teresa serves on numerous school committees including the PLC Leadership Team, Principal’s Advisory Committee, Calendar Committee, Parents As Teachers Advisory Board, and our Instructional Support/Universal Design Learning Team.
